North South Bodies Board Members Conference 25 February 2026

The 2026 Conference for Board Members of the North South Bodies took place in the Armagh City Hotel on 25 February 2026.

The Conference expertly hosted by MC Suzanne Costello, Chief Executive of the All-Island Institute of Public Health, was opened with keynote addresses delivered by Aidan Cronin North South Director, Ireland, UK and Americas Division in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Deputy Secretary for International Relations, at The Executive Office, Brenda Henderson.

Dermot Byrne, formally of Department of Public Expenditure and Reform gave a presentation on the key components of Corporate Governance highlighting why good public sector governance is so important.  Dermot gave a detailed insight into the importance of cultivating a healthy culture on boards.

A panel discussion with Ray Dolan, a former CEO of Safefood and Allen McAdam, a former Board Member of the Ulster Scots Agency focussed on their experiences of North South Co-operation, addressing what worked well, the challenges and obstacles, as well as the opportunities and lessons learned.
