The thirtieth North South Ministerial Council Agriculture Meeting, Armagh, 15 May 2026.
The thirtieth North South Ministerial Council Agriculture meeting was held in the NSMC Joint Secretariat offices, Armagh, on 15 May 2026.
The meeting was attended by Martin Heydon TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine; Andrew Muir MLA, Minister for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs; Aisling Reilly MLA, Junior Minister, The Executive Office, and Joanne Bunting MLA, Junior Minister, The Executive Office.
The NSMC noted the continuing work and progress in cooperation on agriculture and rural development issues. The Council noted the ongoing efforts by officials to strengthen existing cooperation on animal health and welfare continues, and the work underway in both jurisdictions to reduce the prevalence of bovine TB and welcomed the development of the cooperation project to tackle bovine TB, as part of the Shared Island Initiative. Ministers received a presentation from Embrace Farm and Rural Support on the services provided by them to farming and rural communities.
