The thirty-second North South Ministerial Council Inland Waterways meeting was held at Waterways Ireland Headquarters, Enniskillen, on 29 May 2026.
The meeting was attended by James Browne TD, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Liz Kimmins MLA, Minister for Infrastructure, and Joanne Bunting MLA, Junior Minister at the Executive Office. Minister Browne chaired the meeting.
Ministers received updates from Waterways Ireland on measures to address climate change and biodiversity loss, and also received updates on a number of projects including the ongoing work on Phase 3 of the Ulster Canal restoration project.
