CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF THE NORTH SOUTH MINISTERIAL COUNCIL

On 12 December 2024 the NSMC Joint Secretaries hosted an event to recognise and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the North South Ministerial Council. The event took place at the Palace Demesne in Armagh, in the same room where the inaugural NSMC Plenary meeting was held on 13 December 1999.
The event showcased the cooperation that has taken place between the Northern Ireland Executive and the Government of Ireland since 1999 through the structures established under Strand 2 of the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement, and highlighted the cooperation that exists to ultimately deliver better outcomes for people right across this island.
